I'm glad nursing was finally a success. I'm nervous about that but very very determined. I think I started getting overwhelmed when the first nurse in the room started giving me instructions on what to do if my daughter started choking...and that one of the signs is "she might not do anything". Um, talk about freak me out! I'd only been a mom for like 2 hours at that point. And then when the nurse staff decided it was time to tell me what to do with this creature I'd just birthed it was everybody, all at one time, back to back. I couldn't remember a THING! Not to mention that the door to our room felt like it was a revolving door for friends and family. One group would come, then leave as the next group was literally walking in....almost incessantly. Yes, your experience definitely sounds much better! We'll do things differently next time. The whole first month was like that for us. Live and learn, I guess!Rebeccahttp://www.thisismylifeuncensored.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1059191684177040317.post-37245288469626812612011-02-03T09:41:00.199-05:002011-02-03T09:41:00.199-05:00Congrats on little Peanut. I always had a private room (can't imagine sharing!) and was at the hospital for 4 days due to the c-sections. I'm always in awe of friends moving around and taking showers hours after they had the baby since I was lucky to get out of bed by day 2. Can't wait to hear how the first night at home went. I'm sure you all did great!Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07328030841548167239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1059191684177040317.post-33733645671157448382011-02-02T15:56:13.381-05:002011-02-02T15:56:13.381-05:00First, Peanut looks so teeny in her carrier!! Our hospital does not allow the baby to room in overnight unless a light stays on and one of the adults is awake with the baby at all times. That said, during the night they would bring her to us to nurse and then we would hold her for a bit and then send her back. It kind of made me sad, but it was also nice to sleep and know that I could rest and not worry! ...and sharing a recovery room and nursing?! I would have DIED!!Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01971032006465053719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1059191684177040317.post-8534972567784099152011-02-02T14:30:16.903-05:002011-02-02T14:30:16.903-05:00I'd be scared to death to finally head home!! ...I'd be scared to death to finally head home!! Except we had no choice but to share a room since my son was born in Japan. Oh and to top it off there was 1 bathroom for 4 women who had just given birth. YUCK! I was never so excited to see my own house. <br />Congrats on your beautiful baby girl though. Enjoy those quiet moments they fade quickly. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15913415747470441376noreply@blogger.com
