I'm too sexy for my mohawk

A little while ago I posted about what a gremlin looks like in a bath tub - you can see it again here.

This time I give you the Diva.

The Diva is the one in black and brown, not the one in green.  Although I guess that all depends on what day of the week it is.  Just joshing Jonny boy.

I'm talking about this little guy here.

He's not a fan of bath times either, but mostly because he feels that he is abused while in the tub.

He looks all big and furry here.

But add a bit of water.

And he shrinks in size.

He's not a huge fan of getting soaked, but he's an even less of a fan of being made fun of.

He knows what's coming.

A pterodactyl?

Or a rebel without a cause?
Perhaps a Divo?

Or just a really wet Yorkshire Terrier?

With really nice bellbottoms.

I thought these went out of style, but I guess the Divo thinks otherwise.

Alright, alright. That's enough.

Squish-monster has had enough.  He doesn't like being made fun of.

Because very pretty girls don't like being teased.

Google Analytics

Thought I'd share my love for Google Analytics with all you other bloggers out there.

If you're interesting in finding out a little more about your traffic, visitors, or the statistics of your blog, this is a must-have for bloggers.  There are many choices for analytical tools out there, but this one's my fav.

It shows you information regarding your website, be it a public site, a blog, or whatever else you want.  As long as you can enter code into it (and in a blog, you can), then you can set up Google Analytics in just a couple of minutes.

I'll show you a little more and then walk you through the simple set up.

Check this out:

This is a map of the US with a color code that tell you where the majority or my visitors come from.  I like this feature because it's puuurty.  It's also totally cool to see when someone from a state that you know noone from visited you!  I get very excited about my analytics.

And this one here:

This one tells you all sorts of stuff like how many visitors you have, how long they stay on your site, how many new visits there are and even what browser they used.

This one here is one of my favs:

It tells you what keywords people used to get to your site and what referring sites sent them there.

I love knowing this stuff not just because it's cool, which, trust me, it is.  But also it helps me figure out what things interest my readers.  Plus it's addicting.

Now here is what you need to get started.
  1. Go here.
  2. Create an account if you don't already have one.
  3. Create a new profile and domain (it walks you right through it).
  4. Grab the code that it gives you and place it on your site.

Now this isn't as hard as it looks.  Just go to your website or blog and find a way to edit the HTML.  If you have blogger, just click Design and then choose Edit HTML.

Now search for </head> inside all the text and copy/paste the code from Google Analytics right before this.  Hit save.

Voila! You are done!  Now that wasn't so hard, was it?

Now you just have to wait a few hours for the code to do its magic and in no time you'll be going back to Google Analytics to check on your visitors.

Super Easy Spinach Lasagna

Something this week made me crave spinach lasagna and before I even said anything, Jon asked if I could make him some lasagna.  I just love it when we think alike.

This lasagna is super easy - it all started with the recipe on the back of the box.  But I prefer spinach in my lasagna, so over the past couple of years I've adjusted it and made it my own.

What you'll need:
  • Oven-ready lasagna noodles (I like Barilla or Ronzoni)
  • 2 jars of tomato sauce (you'll use about 4-5 cups)
  • 2 eggs
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pack of frozen chopped spinach
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • Some herbs, like Parsely and/or basil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  In a medium bowl, beat 2 eggs.  Mix in Ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese and defrosted spinach.  Be thorough when you squeeze the water out of the spinach - you don't want watery lasagna, do you?  Add some herbs, salt and pepper.

Set aside.  Grab a large (13 x 9 will do) pan and spray it with some oil or cooking spray.  Next spread about 1 cup of tomato sauce to coat the bottom.

Personally, I don't like too much tomato sauce but you can adjust this to however much you want.

Now you'll want some noodles.

I like these.  I also really like the ridged ones but our Stop & Shop doesn't carry them. Bummer.

Layer 4 uncooked sheets, about 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1 cup of mozzarella, and 1 cup of sauce
Layer 4 uncooked sheets, about 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, and a cup of sauce
Layer 4 uncooked sheets, about 1/3 of ricotta mixture, 1/2 cup mozzarella, and 1 cup of sauce
Layer 4 uncooked sheets, the remaining sauce, and remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella

If you want a little something extra, feel free to throw in some sweet peas or whatever else you have on hand.  I'd put it toward the middle layers.

Cover the whole thing with foil and bake for about 45-50 minutes.  Uncover and continue cooking until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.

Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.

Enjoy!
