Michael's First Birthday

Today was a big day for us.  We packed up Peanut and headed to Boston to celebrate my Bestie's baby boy's first birthday.

It seems like only yesterday we met him at the hospital.

And now we're celebrating his first birthday.

I think that we all know how I feel, but I'm going to say it anyways.

I love this boy.

From his chubby little arms to his adorable dimples.

I love watching him grow and (deep breath) walk.

Or, even cuter, play pick-a-boo.

So, my dear dear lovely boy,

Happy birthday.

Friday Five - Things I said I'd never do

First and foremost, happy Friday!

Today I decided to go ahead and tell you that there are many things that I've said I'd never do, and yet, here I am, doing them.

1.  Be "one of those brag moms."  You know the ones.  The moms who post and share about a trillion pictures of their baby doing the exact same thing over and over again.  And yet, here I am.  Oh, motherhood, how you've changed me.

2.  Let the baby dictate my schedule.  I've heard many people say, "that's just what you say until you have kids" and I shook my head at them and told them that my baby would always be on a routine and my life would be full of rules and strict schedules.  Then I had a baby.  The end.

3.  Stay in no matter how old/busy/tired I am. I always said I'd still go out.  Then I got pregnant.  And tired.  And old.  And busy.  Did I mention I go to bed by 9:30pm these days?

4. Stop working out when I had a baby.  Then I realized that if I have an extra 30 minutes during my day, I'd rather spend it with Peanut.  I still continue to take walks and get some workouts here and there when she naps, but honestly, I still choose Peanut over a run/pump/etc.  Maybe later.

5.  Let my emotions get the better of me.  There's just nothing I can do.  Seeing my little Peanut smile or grab something for the first time brings tears of pride and joy.  Watching her recognize me when I come to pick her up at daycare breaks my heart.  When did I become such an emotional mess?

One of my favorite bloggers, Marriage Confessions, recently posted about Instagram.

So, because I'm my own person and don't give in to peer pressure, I joined.

And now I'm addicted.

Peanut and her family

Braylabee Winner posted here.

Did I ever tell you guys that Peanut is one lucky little gal?

Because she is.  She is part of a very big, very loving family.

All her aunts and uncles are just ga-ga over her.

Her grandparents just can't get enough of her.

(Which is evident by the amount of clothes and toys I just sorted into bins.)

(And the smiles we can't wipe off their faces even if we tried...which we wouldn't.)

And great-grandparents who love to spoil her rotten.

And then there are the cousins.

Peanut is incredibly lucky to be part of this big family.

Because there are a lot of people to love and adore her.

Which can knock the wind out of this little 3 months old.

Daddy's little girl

ps-  Today is the last day to get an absolutely awesome personalized custom gift for the babies in your life.

I love these two.

They're like Peanut butter and jelly,

like lamb and tuna fish,

you know, like spaghetti and meatballs.

Hip...hip hop...

Hipoponanimous.

Darn you, you give him all the easy ones.

Quick, name that movie.

Peanut's first Easter

I am pretty big on holidays and birthdays.

Mostly because there are often presents involved and we all know how much I love presents.

But I've never been as excited for a holiday like I am this year now that we have Peanut.

Something about looking at everything through her eyes makes it even more special.

And do you know what I love even more than getting presents?

Giving presents!

Especially to this little girl.

Side note: how awesome are these?

I got them at TJ Maxxx.  Because I'm a fashionista...for baby books.

Next up - Peanut's Easter with the fam where she wore this:
