Gone are the days of cuddling on the couch, stroking each others hair (although, this does happen from time to time).
Here are the days of watching him cuddle our baby, stroking her hair.
Gone are the days of strolling downtown with no agenda or schedule, holding each other hands.
Here are the days of pushing a stroller and watching her get excited about every single thing she sees.
Gone are the days of carefree weekends.
Here are the days of exploring the world and seeing it all anew through her eyes.
Gone are the days of catching each other’s eye across the bar and smiling knowingly.
Here are the days of catching each other’s eye above the baby’s head and beaming with joy, pride and complete happiness.
Wow, I love this post. Especially the last line. I forwarded it to my hubs right away because it reminds me of us and Katie. :-D

ReplyDeleteI love that instead of taking this post to an "oh, remember the life we once had" you used it as a way to express not only how much you have changed but how much you have grown, together.

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! I was just telling myself today that I need to go back and reread your post when you returned to work. I start back to work this week after 4 months home with Lydia. It's so nice to read blogs of other working mothers. Hope you are having a great weekend! :) Lana
