Cailey was born to be a mommy. Unfortunately, we interrupted her calling by getting her spayed. I am a big believer in keeping your pets neutered and spayed, but I often think about how cute Travis' puppies could be or what a good mommy Cailey would make. When we had Jasmine, Cailey's calling kicked in and she took on the mommy role. From time to time we doggie-sit for puppies and Cailey, once again, will take on the mommy role. She watches out for the puppies, guards them from Travis the Grouch, and puts them in their place when they play too rough.
She can actually take a lot from these puppies.
She lets them bite her, chew her, jump on her.
This whole time she just turns the other cheek.
But every once in a while Buddy will bite just a little too hard or attack her unexpectedly.
That's when Cailey will snap back. It's quick, but she gets her point across. She puts Buddy on his back and stands over him for a second, then walks away.
She knows what to do, she's a good mommy to puppies. It's her calling.
We love observing her at her best because it teaches us how to deal with puppies when they misbehave. Cai's amazing like that.
