I have to tell you all some things…
1. My house is under some major renovation. We’re replacing the siding with vinyl siding and replacing our roof. By we, I mean that we hired some one to do it. It’s been almost 2 weeks. And it’s stressing me out so bad that I can barely sleep. Not only can I not stand people working at my house (because I have to have everything just “so”), but they’re leaving their trash around, throwing cigarette butts on my porch, and stepping all over my beautiful flowers. Needless to say, I’m not a very happy camper and I’m counting down the minute until they’re done (which, right now, seems like never).
2. I made a resolution to run at least 3 times a week. This was working out rather well about a month ago. But I haven’t gone once since then. This isn’t just disappointing to me because I thought I could stick to it, but it was also one of my favorite “bad mood” and stress outlets. You can see how this isn’t the best thing when I’m already wicked stressed out with #1. (To redeem myself a bit here, I have done sit ups, squats, and push ups almost every single day).
3. I still have no idea what “Pinterest” is.
4. I’m really looking forward to my birthday. I know that most people dread the idea of getting old, but I don’t mind. As long as there are presents involved. Oh, and I am treated like a princess the entire day. If I am not, I’m afraid to tell you, I pout the entire day.
5. Jon and I have been putting off going grocery shopping for about 2 weeks now. I’ve learned that I’m pretty darn resourceful with the pantry. Oh, and I’m really awesome at ordering Chinese food.
Got anything to confess?
Got a Friday Five?
Link up!
(Don’t forget to link directly to the Friday Five post!)
First of all, I can totally imagine how you are feeling about those workers because we used to have people living in the apartment next to us who left their trash and cigarettes by my front door...made me insane!
ReplyDeleteI love Pintrest...it's really just images that you sort into different categories...like an idea board maker. I have one for my dream house, wedding ideas, etc. It's fun, but also stupid in a way. :)
And I think you should totally be treated like a princess on your birthday!
You know you can absolutely ask the workers to clean up better and NOT to dispose of their cigarette butts in an appropriate manner. That is NOT your responsibility and is, frankly, gross. We just renovated our house and I was not above reminding the men to aim for the toilet better! It's not their property, it's yours, and they need to respect it!
ReplyDeleteConfession? I haven't showered in 48+ hours. Gross.
Your little Peanut is so cute. That first pic just melts my heart!!! LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when people are working on our house too. I usually feel like I'm being rude not offering them a drink or like offering to help or something. Silly I know, since we HIRED them, but still. I feel like a bum if I'm like laying on my couch and they're working.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Pinterest is the black hole of really pretty things. Don't get involved if you don't have approximately 1,345 hours a day to kill on the internet.
I also have no idea what pinterest is. I'm afraid to find out, too - because the last thing I need is another internet addiction!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Kat! I have a few comments. LOL! First I have NO flippin' idea what Pinterest is or how it works. Someone sent me an invite, I registered but haven't gone on since.
ReplyDeleteSecondly - Congrats on the remodeling of your home. Everything gets messy and chaotic but just keep the end result in your mind and how wonderful it will look!
Thirdly (not sure if thats a word)... Your little Peanut looks like Phivel from American Tale (look it up)... when hes wearing the big ole' hat. So cute I want to hug her!!
xoxo
Love you my friend!
The fact that you, Ms. IT and blog savvy person don't know what Pinterest is makes me feel much better about not knowing either :)
ReplyDeleteI am OBSESSED with pinterest!!! and I agree with you - I totally pout if stuff doesnt go my way on my birthday!!
ReplyDeleteOkay...going on Pinterest is a must! I actually made 2 recipes today (both amazing...pics on my blog today) that I found on there. There are so many amazing things you find on there (home decor, recipes, DIY stuff, pretty pictures) that you kind of bookmark, or "pin" them onto boards so you always know where they are. And if you click on a picture, it takes you back to where the person originally found it.
ReplyDeleteLOOOOVE it!!
I totally don't get Pinterest. I know what it is, but I just don't care. I don't understand why people who aren't planning an event would find it so fascinating. Although, reading Michelle Leigh's comment is making me see it in a new light, so maybe I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteCommitting to running is really hard. Have you thought about signing up for a race or something to keep you motivated? Or maybe there's a different kind of cardio you would like better?
Okay, pinterest... I like it, but not as addicted as I thought I'd be. Give it a try, I can send you an invite (I think that's how you get signed up for it)...
ReplyDeletePinterest is just twitter for images.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you are trying to get back into running! :)
Your little girl is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteMan, I would HATE having workers there every day, especially if they were being disrespectful of my space! YUCK! I hope they finish quickly.
Peanut is adorable. I want to hug and squeeze her! And if you ever need a babysitter, I'm your girl. Also, if you need an account for Pinterest and/or tutorial, I'm also your girl. Hope you have a great weekend, Kat! And I'm crossing my fingers that they finish renovations ASAP
ReplyDeleteThe hat pictures are too much! :) It's ok that you haven't run 3 times/week. Sometimes life just doesn't let that happen. Run when you can and you'll enjoy it and want to go that much more! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteBunch of comments:
ReplyDelete1 - I totally feel your pain. I went through a home reno when I was pregnant and it's amazing I didn't pull my own (and the reno guys') hair out. I even did several posts about it. (http://laynenp.blogspot.com/2010/11/stop-madnesss.html) Mine was only a week and a half so KUDOS to you for powering through 2 weeks already! Just keep reminding yourself, it's SO worth it in the end! (http://laynenp.blogspot.com/2010/11/guest-bath-after.html)
2 - I also love my birthday (or like my husband likes to tease me and say my birthday WEEK). But I must say that next year I'll be the BIG 3-0, combine that with being a Mom, married and homeowner and WHOA! It's like I'm actually a grown up?!?
3 - I know what Pinterest is but I'm doing my best not to investigate too thoroughly because I've heard it's addictive. Proceed at your own risk!
Ok, seriously? Can little Addison get any cuter? I mean, really!?!?!?! My gosh that girl is adorable! And she stays in a hat? Zoe has to have a strap on her beach hats and even then she pulls at it the entire time...and don't even get me started with shoes =)
ReplyDeleteKat- Here's a Friday Five just for you:
ReplyDelete1. Addison is precious!! I love all of her pictures!!
2. Get Pinterest. right now, go :)
3. I adore birthdays and all other holidays for that matter!
4. I need to email you back about that giveaway.
5. I commented! Aren't you proud? :)
