Today I decided to go ahead and tell you that there are many things that I've said I'd never do, and yet, here I am, doing them.
1. Be "one of those brag moms." You know the ones. The moms who post and share about a trillion pictures of their baby doing the exact same thing over and over again. And yet, here I am. Oh, motherhood, how you've changed me.
2. Let the baby dictate my schedule. I've heard many people say, "that's just what you say until you have kids" and I shook my head at them and told them that my baby would always be on a routine and my life would be full of rules and strict schedules. Then I had a baby. The end.
3. Stay in no matter how old/busy/tired I am. I always said I'd still go out. Then I got pregnant. And tired. And old. And busy. Did I mention I go to bed by 9:30pm these days?
4. Stop working out when I had a baby. Then I realized that if I have an extra 30 minutes during my day, I'd rather spend it with Peanut. I still continue to take walks and get some workouts here and there when she naps, but honestly, I still choose Peanut over a run/pump/etc. Maybe later.
5. Let my emotions get the better of me. There's just nothing I can do. Seeing my little Peanut smile or grab something for the first time brings tears of pride and joy. Watching her recognize me when I come to pick her up at daycare breaks my heart. When did I become such an emotional mess?
