1. Cherry Pitter

This would help me scoop hundreds of these into my mouth in a matter of minutes. Without chocking.
2. Strawberry stem remover

Umm, did you know this existed? Because I did not. And now that I do, taking the stems off my strawberries is one of the most tedious tasks ever. Honestly, who ha time to waste on de-stemming the berries? Not me. I'm a busy person. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books.
3. Pineapple slicer

I know what you're thinking - THAT is how all those pricy restaurants do it! I know, I know. I have ESPN.
4. Apple Corer

I quit.
5. Herb Scissors
image via amazon.com |
I just recently learned that it's easier to use scissors to cut herbs to start with...and now this? What has this world come to?
On a side note, it's my birthday in July. I'm going to be...uh...25 (that's my new favorite age). So if you're struggling with gifts (*cough* Jon *cough*), this is a gimme. You're welcome.
What is the coolest gadget you own? What kitchen gadget do you covet?
Got a Friday Five? Link up!
The pineapple corer and the herb scissors are two of the most awesome things I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteThat strawberry thing is killing me. Could it really be easier than just slicing the top off with a knife? But I agree with Mrs. D, the pineapple corer and herb scissors are awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove the FF idea! I may have to steal that one for next week! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love my stand mixer. I'd marry it if I could. That's my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen aid standup mixer is amazing. I love that thing. I have the pineapple corer, but I like the one from pampered chef better. It's like a giant apple corer (not like the one you have here though) You cut the top and bottom off then slide the pineapple corer top to bottom and it slices it into 5 pieces. Then you can chop those pieces into smaller chunks.
ReplyDeleteI was about 2 clicks away from posting some thing very similar. Great minds think alike! I have another one though which I think I will go with today!
ReplyDeleteHa! I am eating cherries right this very second and wish I had the cherry pitter! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll take a cherry pitter and herb scissors when you get yours too please :)
ReplyDeletekitchen gadgets crack me up. I'll give you the cherry pitter, that one would be nice but usually I think gadgets like these are a waste of time. I seriously think I could core an apple quicker with a sharp knife than an apple corer.
ReplyDeleteOne I do want though is a mushroom brush :)
Oh, I need the pineapple one! I certainly would use it enough!
ReplyDeleteI want to go to there on most of these : ) Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteWow....I have a lot more kitchen gadgets to pick up now! :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is obsessed with cherries, and he loves his cherry pitter.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Especially the herb scissors. Two of our favorite kitchen gadgets are the microplane and the garlic press. We use both several times each week.
ReplyDeleteI totally covet the pineapple slicer and love my new herb scissors, which we got with an herb keeper from Crate & Barrel that also rocks. One more thing that you M.U.S.T get is this hand-powered chopper from Williams-Sonoma. It has truly become THE staple in our kitchen.
