Happy Friday

Well, folks, we've come to the end of the road...the maternity leave road.

To celebrate, Peanut and I spent the entire morning in bed, cooing and smiling at one another.

ps- guess what the theme is in Peanut's world?

Then we got dressed and headed out on the town.

First we stopped at the chiropractor's office.  He was just closing up but stuck around to chat for a few since he was there pretty much until the day I delivered.  He's expecting his first baby girl in July! Yay! I'm excited.

Then we took a stroll through downtown, stopping at a book store and grabbing a new cookbook for mom.

Then we hung out at the library for a little while before heading home.

Where we made more faces at one another.

And obviously changed outfits because, well, poo.

When daddy got home, we all went for a walk and then out to dinner.

It was the first time that we went out to dinner together and it worked out pretty well!

Peanut hung out until dinner came and then laid in my lap (she cried anytime we tried to put her in the car seat) while we had dinner.  We only had to step out of the restaurant once or twice when she was getting fussy.

All in all, the day was amazing.  As were the 12 weeks I spent home with my first baby girl.  I'm going to miss this so much, but I'm looking forward to a new chapter in our lives.

This ends my whining about the end of maternity leave.

So onward!

  1. Looks like a wonderful way to spend the day. A lot better than scrubbing the grout on my kitchen floor!

  2. Good luck on Monday. It's the hardest thing at first but each day gets easier and you'll learn to cherish every moment you have after work with them. Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Zoe couldn't stand being in her carseat when we were at restaurants either...she wanted to be with us, or at least be able to see everything that was going on. Do you have a bumbo seat? We used that for probably 2ish months at restaurants until she could sit up by herself in a highchair...it's kinda bulky, but it works great!
